The Internet Revolution
Internet has generated a great amount of impact on society.
Internet was first originated during the time of Cold War era. It happened because the US feared nuclear
attack from Soviet Union. Hence the computer scientist planned, designed and
implemented ARPANET, the forerunner of the internet. Each networked computer
passes along a message to another in the direction of the messages destination
which is recognized by its address, by using open satellite telephone line.
ARPANET is a form of computer network which was designed for
defence purpose which later evolved into internet during the late 1980s, this
evolution happened when the number of users in the US and then in the other
countries also began to increase tremendously. In comparison to other means of
communication, internet is quicker, cheaper and more reliable. A very rapid rate of adoption of the internet,
including the WWW (World Wide Web) came into existence during the time 1990.Internet
has been considered as one of the great transformational technologies.
